ROLLER CONVEYORS

Roller conveyors are designed for internal transport in, for example, a warehouse, workshop or distribution centre. Such a system is indispensable for order picking or the packing process. A roller conveyor is also excellent for buffering, which saves space in the warehouse. Staff can also work on a roller conveyor during, for example, packing or preparing goods for shipment. In short, you maintain an overview, work faster and relieve the burden on your staff!

Roller conveyors in all shapes and sizes

A distinction is made between powered roller conveyors and non-powered roller conveyors. Non-powered roller conveyors operate on the basis of gravity. By introducing a gradient into the system, for example, goods can be moved easily without the need for a motor or drive. Depending on the size and weight of the goods to be transported, the right angle of inclination is determined. In this way, the goods roll smoothly from A to B on the roller conveyor.

Roller conveyors have a wide applicability. Non-powered roller conveyor systems can be placed in any set-up thanks to the modular assembly system. Thanks to the flexible set-up, a solution can be found for every workplace and working environment. Instead of only working with straight tracks, solutions can also be found with roller conveyors with a 45 or 90-degree angle.

To arrive at the right choice, you will find some advice below, which will help you with your purchase:

The carrier rollers in a roller conveyor are made of plastic or are galvanised steel. When choosing from these options, don’t forget to look at the location of the tracks, the humidity in the room and other environmental factors.
What is the size of the goods going over the roller conveyors? This is because this determines the width of the lane. The carrier rollers, over which the goods move, may be narrower than the goods but a system according to the size of the goods works best.
The space between the individual rollers, called the roller pitch, also plays a very important role. For proper transport of the goods, it is important that it is carried by at least three carrier rollers.
Roller conveyors as a buffer location can also serve as an alternative to transport carts, especially for smaller distances.
Also consider the underside or bottom of the goods. A system naturally works best with a flat contact surface, so that the goods are transported smoothly over the rollers.
